Germany in a week! Whoo!
Am noooooot looking forward to the flight though.
I'll end up getting there around 9 AM their time which would basically be 2 AM central time...meaning I'll have to stay up for the rest of the day and try not to collapse.
FUN.
But my second week there I'm going with Anni to a camp.
Which is going to be interesting because my German isn't the greatest. It could be better. A lot better.
Hopefully there will be lots and lots of pictures and I'm thinking about keeping a travel blog. Who knows. But I probably won't have too much time on the computer.
This will be very good for me.
Hm...in other news...
...Well, there's probably a lot of other news but I'm kind of too lazy to type much. Grandma's on her last leg--we expect she only has a few days more. I sit back and think, "what have I learned from this?" and when I did not think long I thought "nothing". But then I think longer about it.
I've come to the conclusion that dying of old age is not all it's cracked up to be, which is essentially how she is going. That being said there's really no such thing as "dying of old age"--there's always a cause. Heart failure, cancer, internal bleeding, whathaveyou. You don't just die in your sleep for no reason--you die in your sleep because of a heart attack or something of the sort.
I guess that all sounds so pessimistic, but I'm not much of a pessimistic person--to me, it's reality, and by this point, the pessimism has almost turned into optimism in a very strange way that I can't explain.
I'm sitting here attempting to think of a way to explain it, but nothing's coming to mind. I guess I'm hitting that point in my life where I'm realizing that there are indeed some things you just have to experience--some things that, no matter how you try to explain it, you can never /make/ someone understand. One has to go through it herself.

There's a lot going on in my life and yet nothing at all. There's college I have to look into (I'm shooting for Art Center College of Design, Ringling as a second (or maybe a first depending on what time of year it is)) and then my future in general, who I want to be, where I want to be, and realising just how incredibly short life is and at the same time how much of it there is to live (thank God). I want to get out of here but at the same time there is so much I will miss, childhood memories and people. It's a lot, when you are told your entire life, "Oh, you still have time, you don't have to worry about any of that yet," and then suddenly HELLO! You're a split-second away from a head-on collision with all you thought would never come. It's scary but exciting.

Who knows. Maybe I'll post some stuff before I go off to Germany.
